Director’s Biography:

Kiko Goifman (1970, Brazil) graduated as an anthropologist from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gferais, and obtained a Masters Degree in Multimedia from the Universidade de Campinas. He mainly focuses on making documentaries, as well as experimental projects on film, video, websites and CD-ROMs. Goifman started his career making numerous short films including “Tereza” (1992), Fábulas da vó de Arturo” (1993), “Clones, bárbaros e replicantes” (1994), Na velocidade dos morcegos” (1995) and “Olhos pasmados” (2000). His first feature length creative documentary “33” (2003) received support from the Hubert Bals Fund and was selected for numerous festivals including Locarno, Rotterdam and Marseille. His following documentary “Dense Death” (2003) was screened at festivals in Locarno and Miami. Goifman’s short film “Território vermelho (2004) was selected for the International Rotterdam Film Festival. “Acts of men”, Goifman’s second feature length documentary premiered at the Berlinale in 2006, and was awarded Best Documentary at the Three Continents Film Festival (Nantes).
